Neighborhoods & Communities

Communities and HOAs can participate in these efforts, too! The Firewise USA program provides a framework to educate community members and work to implement wildfire preparedness practices in communities of eight or more homes. The District, in partnership with DNR Community Resilience Coordinators, can support interested communities by providing individual and community walkthroughs, educational presentations, connecting communities with financial support, and assisting in the Firewise USA application and renewal process.
For communities that have already gotten started with the Firewise USA program, consider joining the Community Wildfire Ambassador network to take the next step in connecting with other communities, gaining tools for further implementation, and advocating for fire adapted communities.
