Sequoia sempervirens 


300 ft tall. Fibrous reddish-brown bark, and dark-green needles through the seasons. The world’s largest tree, redwood, is known for its size and life span, as it will reach maturity between 400 and 500 years old. Redwoods store more carbon, are more fire resilient, and less likely to fall prey to invasive pests, when compared to other PNW species.
