Mason Conservation District is proud to be partnering with the Puget Sound Estuarium to bring Pier Peer to Mason County.
This project was funded by a grant from the Squaxin Island Tribe.

The Estuarium's trained biologists use underwater lights to attract spectacular estuary creatures for you to safely scoop up and observe. Volunteer Beach Naturalists will help you identify and learn more about what you've found. You never know what amazing things you'll encounter!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Cancellation:

Pier Peer is a weather dependent event. In cases of inclement weather, we will inform participants of event cancellation via email. We will make every effort to reschedule any cancelled Pier Peer events.

Safety is very important to us! Children ages 12 and under must wear life jackets and be accompanied by an adult (at least 1 adult per 2 children). This event involves some contact with deep water and is not recommended for children under the age of 6.

All participants must sign a liability waiver. This will be provided at the event.
FAQ
How much does it cost to register?
We are proud to be offering Mason County Pier Peer events for FREE! A special thank you to the Squaxin Island Tribe for providing grant funding for this project.

What should I bring with me?
It is recommended that each participant bring their own flashlight. Underwater lights will be provided by the Estuarium, but having a personal flashlight will help you get a good look at anything you find.

What should I wear?
Everyone is required to wear a mask. Please wear non-slip shoes and dress for the weather.
