Skokomish RM 6.5 Habitat Restoration Project, MCD Contract #2026-02
Mason Conservation District (MCD) is requesting bids from qualified parties to help restore river, wetland, and floodplain habitat in the Skokomish Valley on the main stem of the Skokomish River in Mason County, Washington. The project will take place primarily on Washington Department Fish and Wildlife’s (WDFW) land but access to some areas of the project will cross private parcels. Work on this project includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing routes for construction of project elements, excavation of floodplain material for 0.6 miles of side channel creation and improvement, installation of 21 large wood structures in the Skokomish River (10 of which are pile supported), installation of 13 wood habitat structures in the side channels, site isolation and de-watering in the river, decommissioning an existing recreational parking area, construction of a new recreational parking area, demolition and removal of an existing vault toilet, installation of a new prefabricated vault toilet in the new parking area, improvement of an established access route to the river, and other work necessary to complete this project.
Bids for this project will be received until March 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

A mandatory job show will be held on February 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., meeting at the project site.
Specifically, the WDFW boat launch parking area on the north side of the Skokomish River on N. Sunnyside Rd (1.4 miles from Sunnyside’s intersection with U.S. highway 101, coordinates 47.319682, -123.200889).
