​If you’ve experienced floods in your home or business, you know how hard it can be to recover, or to plan for the next one.

The Chehalis Basin Strategy provides resources and assistance so you can protect yourself from flooding. There is also specific information and resources provided to individuals and families who rent their properties.

Aquatic Species Restoration Program

The Aquatic Species Restoration Program (ASRP) is a key component of the Chehalis Basin Strategy. The science-based plan that supports ASRP is designed to improve and restore aquatic habitat in the Chehalis Basin, as well as protect communities and landscapes from the predicted increase in flooding disasters.

Flooding is a normal part of the Chehalis Basin, but decades of intensive land use have changed our lands and waterways, putting homes, businesses, towns, and fish and wildlife at greater risk.

The ASRP is designed to provide smart guidance and diligent work with willing landowners while honoring existing community values, leading to more investment in the natural systems that support our economy.

Become a Habitat Restoration Partner

The Chehalis Basin Strategy and its Aquatic Species Restoration Plan (ASRP) partners are collaborating to restore approximately 550 miles of aquatic habitat throughout the Chehalis Basin. Local project sponsors and landowners who volunteer to pitch in are the ones who make this important work possible. The ASRP helps organizations manage projects and provides funding to restore and protect priority habitats throughout the Chehalis Basin. You can be a part of this effort.
