The Mason Conservation District was successful in obtaining a grant to develop and implement an agricultural based incentive program to reduce nitrogen discharge into the Hood Canal by converting to organic farming techniques and cover crop use this will decrease the use of chemical fertilizers.
We still have cost-share funding in the Skokomish Watershed to help landowners implement best management practices, such as riparian fencing, tree planting, erosion control or gutters, downspouts and outlets.
If you would like any information on these grants or would like a technician to visit your farm please call the District office at (360) 427-9436. |
